Product Description

According to the artisan wool blenders at Peace Fleece, this batting is a "vibrant, medium red".

Peace Fleece batting is our favorite fiber for wet felting here at Cedar Ring Circle. Batting has a courser texture than roving, which means it felts up faster. If you are needle-felting and want a more delicate, fine appearance for your project, we recommend our Corriedale wool roving, which is smoother, less course, and has been processed further to remove small bits of plant matter that tends to be more present in batting.  If you're going for a more rustic, complex, textured look, this batting is a wonderful choice for creating dry needle-felted treasures, as well.

The Peace Fleece offices are in a barn on a sheep and horse farm in the small, rural town of Porter in the foothills of southwestern Maine. Peter Hagerty and his wife Marty Tracy started buying wool from the Soviet Union back in 1985 in hopes that through trade they could help diffuse the threat of nuclear war. Since then Peter has journeyed through eastern Europe, central Asia and the Middle East in search of farmers and shepherds who are willing to set aside historic enmities in exchange for opportunities leading to mutual understanding and economic interdependence.
